KUCHING – The IMH Music Carnival 2026 is being held today at IMH Music House on Rock Road, offering members of the public a day of live performances, music-related activities and information on learning programmes.
The event runs from 9am to 5pm and is open to visitors free of charge. It brings together music enthusiasts, families and members of the wider community in a programme centred on performances, activities and access to music products and services.
Live performances are among the main features of the carnival, with presentations involving instruments including piano, violin and guitar. The programme also provides visitors with an opportunity to experience different forms of musical performance in an informal setting.
Beyond the performances, visitors can browse music books and musical instruments available at the venue. The carnival also includes activities intended to encourage participation and give families and other visitors opportunities to spend time together.
Information and consultation services form another part of the event. Visitors interested in learning music or finding suitable instruments can speak with representatives through one-on-one consultations to obtain information about available programmes and options.
A key promotional element of the carnival is the Junior Music Programme, which is being offered under a special promotion with availability limited to 30 seats. The arrangement is intended for visitors considering structured music education for younger learners.
The organisers are also offering a free IMH Privilege Card to the first 100 customers. The promotion is being presented alongside other special offers available during the carnival.
The event reflects the role that community-based music activities can play in introducing children and families to music education outside a formal classroom environment. Public events of this nature can also give prospective learners an opportunity to explore instruments and programmes before making decisions about longer-term lessons.
For parents and guardians, the consultations provide an avenue to seek information about music learning options, while performances can offer younger visitors exposure to different instruments and styles. For existing music learners and enthusiasts, the event provides a setting to explore instruments, music books and related activities.
The carnival is taking place as a single-day community event, with activities and promotions continuing throughout its scheduled operating hours. Visitors are able to attend without an entrance fee and explore the programme according to their interests.
With its combination of performances, educational information, activities and limited promotional offers, the IMH Music Carnival 2026 is focused on bringing music into a broader community setting while encouraging interest in learning and creative participation. â Sarawak Daily
