KOTA SAMARAHAN – Police arrested two local men on suspicion of drug-related offences during an integrated crime prevention operation conducted across the Kota Samarahan district on Friday, 6 November 2026.
The operation was carried out by the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD Kota Samarahan) between 6pm and 10pm, involving several enforcement activities aimed at preventing crime, addressing drug-related offences and maintaining public order.
According to information released on the operation, police conducted roadblocks, crime prevention patrols and enforcement activities, including raids and arrests at locations within the district.
A total of 48 vehicles and 55 individuals were inspected throughout the four-hour operation. Police also issued seven traffic summonses for various road-related offences identified during the checks.
In addition to the traffic enforcement activities, officers arrested two local men in connection with suspected drug-related offences.
The cases were investigated under Section 15(1)(a) and Section 39C(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. These provisions cover offences relating to the consumption of dangerous drugs and repeat drug-related offences, respectively.
The arrests formed part of the operation’s wider objective of addressing drug abuse and related criminal activities within the district.
Integrated enforcement operations typically combine visible police patrols, traffic inspections and targeted enforcement activities to improve security and identify potential offences. Roadblocks also provide officers with opportunities to conduct vehicle and individual checks as part of wider crime prevention efforts.
The Kota Samarahan operation involved several enforcement components, allowing police personnel to address traffic violations while carrying out crime prevention activities at the same time.
The police said the operation represented part of the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) continued efforts to combat criminal activities, curb drug abuse and safeguard public safety.
The involvement of the community was also highlighted as an important element in maintaining security and public order. Cooperation between residents and law enforcement agencies can assist in identifying potential safety concerns and supporting crime prevention initiatives.
Police reiterated the importance of cooperation between the authorities and members of the public, emphasising that community safety is a shared responsibility.
The latest operation reflects the ongoing enforcement efforts undertaken by IPD Kota Samarahan to address local security concerns through patrols, inspections and targeted action against suspected offences.
PDRM’s message remains that effective crime prevention requires continued cooperation between the police and the community to help maintain a safe and orderly environment throughout Kota Samarahan. â Sarawak Daily
