KUCHING – A total of 64 participants representing 32 teams took part in the PBB N.6 Tupong Closed Doubles Darts Competition held on 1 November 2026 at the Petra Jaya Dart War’s Club.
The competition brought together local darts enthusiasts, with each team comprising two players competing in the doubles category. The event provided an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills while encouraging greater involvement in community-based sporting activities.
Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman attended the competition after completing an earlier programme at Taman Won Tadik, making a stop at the Petra Jaya Dart War’s Club to meet participants and support the event.
The tournament was organised through cooperation between the PBB Youth Branch N.6 Tupong and Petra Jaya Dart War’s Club, reflecting the involvement of local organisations in promoting recreational sports and community participation.
Fazzrudin said sporting activities of this nature deserved continued encouragement, as they offer participants opportunities to develop their abilities, improve their techniques and gain experience through friendly competition.
He also highlighted the value of organised recreational activities in providing constructive ways for people to spend their leisure time. Participation in sports can encourage discipline, concentration and commitment while creating opportunities for individuals with shared interests to interact.
Darts, particularly in the doubles format, requires players to maintain accuracy, consistency and concentration throughout a match. Team members must also work together and support one another, making communication and mutual understanding important aspects of the competition.
The participation of 32 teams demonstrated the level of community involvement in the event, with 64 players given the opportunity to compete in a structured sporting environment.
Beyond the competitive element, local tournaments can contribute to stronger community relationships by bringing together participants from different backgrounds. Such gatherings also provide opportunities for sporting clubs and youth organisations to build networks and encourage continued participation in recreational activities.
The involvement of the PBB Youth Branch N.6 Tupong in organising the competition also highlighted the role of youth organisations in supporting grassroots activities. Collaboration with local sporting clubs can help provide the organisational support and facilities needed to sustain community tournaments.
Fazzrudin congratulated the PBB Youth Branch N.6 Tupong and Petra Jaya Dart War’s Club for their cooperation and efforts in organising the competition.
He also encouraged continued efforts to organise similar sporting programmes, noting their potential to develop local talent, promote positive recreational habits and strengthen friendships among participants.
The competition added to the range of community sporting activities available in the Tupong and Petra Jaya areas, with grassroots initiatives continuing to provide opportunities for residents to participate in organised recreation and develop a spirit of fair play. â Sarawak Daily
