KOTA BHARU, 3 May 2025 – A quiet village in Pasir Mas was rocked yesterday after an 11-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by his own father — a 47-year-old male teacher — using a vegetable knife.
The tragic incident took place in Kampung Banggol Che Dol, Pohon Tanjung, and has left the local community stunned. The victim, who sustained two stab wounds to his chest and stomach, was confirmed dead at the scene.

The suspect, who is the boy’s biological father, was brought to the Kota Bharu Magistrate’s Court this morning wearing lockup attire. Magistrate Ahmad Syafiq Aizat Nazri granted a seven-day remand order to allow further investigation under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder — though with the victim deceased, charges may escalate to murder.
According to Pasir Mas District Police Chief ACP Kama Azural Mohamed, the police were alerted to the horrifying scene at around 9.08am yesterday after receiving a public complaint.
Initial investigations suggest that the violent act may have been triggered by a domestic conflict, as the suspect was in the middle of a third divorce proceeding. Police further revealed that the suspect has a history of mental illness and has been receiving psychiatric treatment since 2008.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full motive and whether the suspect was mentally fit at the time of the crime. The case has drawn attention not only due to its brutality but also because it involves a teacher — someone entrusted with the care and education of children.
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of mental health support and early intervention, especially for those going through personal turmoil. — Bernama
