PADAWAN – A total of 30 rural homes across 17 villages in the Mambong State Constituency (DUN) have been selected to receive aid under Phase 2 of the Sarawak Poor House Improvement Project (PPRMS-MRP) for the year 2025.

The contractor draw ceremony was held at the Mambong DUN Community Service Centre Office, officiated by Deputy Minister of Transport (Air and Road) and Mambong ADUN, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

In his remarks, Datuk Dr Jerip emphasised that the PPRMS initiative is a key effort by the Sarawak Government to assist rural households in need of basic home repairs.

“Each house will receive an allocation of RM15,000, and no SST tax is imposed for the implementation of this project,” he said.

He reminded the selected contractors to engage in proper consultation with the homeowners and obtain written consent before commencing any repair work.

“A formal scope of work document will be used and can be cancelled if the homeowner does not cooperate. If there is no commitment from the recipient, the construction materials may also be withdrawn,” he added.

Datuk Dr Jerip also instructed that project plaques are to remain after completion and must not be removed by the homeowner. Contractors are encouraged to document the progress with photos to ensure transparency and accountability.

“This project not only brings direct benefit to the people but also reflects the government’s commitment to uplifting rural communities across Sarawak,” he said.
