57-Year-Old Woman Missing in Simpok Forest, Police Seek Public Help

57-Year-Old Woman Missing in Simpok Forest

KUCHING, 7 Dec — Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 57-year-old woman who went missing in the forest area of Lorong 4, Kampung Simpok, Jalan Padawan, on Saturday evening.

According to a statement released by the Padawan District Police Headquarters, the Tapah Police Station received the report at approximately 9.56pm on 6 December 2025. The missing woman, Aron Anak Rajak, was last seen around 7.00pm before she was believed to have wandered into the nearby forest.

Aron, a Bidayuh woman, was dressed in a black singlet and a sarong fabric at the time of her disappearance. Family members raised concerns when she did not return home, prompting an immediate search effort by local authorities.

Police confirmed that search operations began shortly after the report was filed. Officers from Tapah Police Station, along with community members, carried out initial sweeps in the surrounding forest area but found no trace of Aron. Due to the terrain and low visibility at night, the search was continued the following day with additional manpower.

Padawan District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz bin Md Radzi, in the official release, urged members of the public—especially those living around Simpok and nearby villages—to remain alert and report any sightings or information that may assist in locating the missing woman.

Anyone with information is urged to contact:

  • SM David Anak Guleng, Chief of Tapah Police Station – 013-8234584
  • Tapah Police Station082-867236
  • Padawan IPD Operations Room082-862233
  • Or the nearest police station

The police emphasised the importance of community cooperation in cases involving missing individuals, especially in rural and forested areas where movement becomes harder to trace.

The statement, signed by Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz, was released at 5.45pm on 7 December 2025.
