8 Men Nabbed Over Fatal Brawl Outside Bintulu Entertainment Centre

BINTULU, 28 April – Eight men have been arrested following a deadly fight outside an entertainment centre in Bintulu early Sunday morning. The victim, a 28-year-old man, was found covered in blood around 1am and later confirmed dead at Bintulu Hospital.

Bintulu district police chief, Supt Nixon Joshua Ali, said investigations began immediately after the incident. Acting swiftly on gathered intelligence, police arrested eight suspects — a mix of locals and foreigners, all in their 40s, believed to be from Miri.

According to Nixon, the police are committed to bringing all those involved to justice. “We will not stop until every individual connected to this tragic incident is brought to account,” he said when contacted by Utusan Sarawak.

He also revealed that the fatal brawl was caught on several closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras nearby. The footage, which has since gone viral on social media, shows two groups getting into a heated argument before the situation turned violent.

Authorities are still actively tracking down others who may have been involved. Nixon urged anyone with information about the case to come forward and assist the police.

The incident has sparked concern among the local community, with many calling for better security measures around entertainment areas, especially during late-night hours.

Police are reminding the public to avoid speculating on the case and allow investigations to proceed without interference. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further updates will be provided as investigations progress.

Anyone with information can contact the Bintulu District Police Headquarters at 086-318304.
