A Lifeline for Ulu Kakus Flood Victims

BINTULU: In an inspiring act of dedication, security forces braved a long journey of over four hours to deliver essential food aid to flood-stricken residents in Ulu Kakus, Tatau. The mission aimed to bring relief to families affected by the recent flooding in the remote longhouses of Rumah Layang, Rumah Dasi, and Rumah Jampa.

A total of 102 packs of food aid were successfully delivered, providing much-needed assistance to the communities stranded due to the rising waters. According to a statement from the agency, the journey involved traveling four to five hours by boat from Tatau to reach the affected areas.

Despite the challenging conditions, the security forces were joined by a dedicated team from the District Education Office (PPD), Civil Defence Force (APM), and PPD Tatau, Sebauh, ensuring that the mission ran smoothly. This collaborative effort was crucial in overcoming the logistical challenges of delivering aid to the remote locations.

“The journey was tough, but the smiles on the faces of the recipients made it all worth it,” said one of the personnel involved in the mission.

This food aid mission is part of ongoing efforts to support communities in rural areas affected by natural disasters, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of local authorities to ensure that no one is left behind in times of crisis.

The residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance provided, praising the dedication and resilience of the team that made the journey.
