Van Carrying Gasoline Drum Catches Fire

JBPM reported that the van belonged to a subcontractor electrical wiring company and was transporting a gasoline drum when the fire broke out.

“Upon arrival, the Operations Response Team (PKO) found a small fire on the driver’s side and passenger door of the van,” JBPM said in a statement.

Quick Fire Response and Victim’s Condition

Firefighters acted swiftly, using first-aid hose lines and a water source nozzle from the fire truck pump to extinguish the flames completely. The operation concluded by 9.00am.

The injured 25-year-old victim received immediate treatment from the fire brigade before being sent to Bintulu Hospital for further medical care.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
