Man Arrested for Threatening Mother, Damaging Property in Krokop

MIRI – A 50-year-old man was arrested by the police for allegedly threatening his mother and damaging her belongings in an incident at their home in Krokop on Saturday morning, 22 March 2025.

The suspect was detained on Saturday night following a police report made by his mother. Based on initial investigations, authorities found that the suspect not only made criminal threats but also vandalized various items inside the house.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had multiple past criminal records, including cases related to domestic violence. He was also found to have repeatedly mistreated both of his elderly parents in previous incidents.

During the police raid, officers seized a weapon—a metal rod tied with a knife—believed to have been used by the suspect in the crime.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 506 and Section 427 of the Penal Code, which cover criminal intimidation and mischief resulting in damage to property.
