Six firefighters led by Senior Fire Officer II Abdul Rahman Sabi were immediately sent to the location.

The department confirmed that the vehicle had hit the road divider and overturned in the middle of the road. The cause of the accident is believed to be self-inflicted, meaning no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

“There were two men in the Hilux,” said a spokesperson from the department. “One of them survived without injuries, while the other sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to Saratok Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.”

Firefighters did not need to carry out any rescue operation as the victims were already outside the vehicle. Their task was mainly to clean up the scene, including removing debris and oil spills from the road to ensure safety for other road users.
