KUCHING, 22 April 2025 – A significant leadership change took place in the Sarawak Police Contingent as a Handover of Duties and Induction Ceremony was held at the Senior Officers’ Mess Hall, IPK Sarawak Headquarters on Monday. The event was marked with formality, tradition, and pride in the police institution.
The ceremony was officiated by Sarawak Police Commissioner, Dato Mancha Ata, who also led the induction of SAC Nor Omar Sappi as the new Head of the Internal Security and Public Order Department (KJKDNKA). SAC Nor Omar officially took over the position from Supt Samima Mustapha, continuing the legacy of dedication and discipline in maintaining Sarawak’s security.
The ceremony also included the handover of district police leadership. ACP Alexson Naga Chabu took over the role of Kuching and Miri District Police Chief (KPD) from ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah. This transition was carried out with full respect and honour, reflecting the professionalism embedded in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Additionally, the event saw the handover of the PERKEP Chairperson roles for IPD Kuching and IPD Miri. The responsibilities were passed from Arabia Abdul Rahim to Josselyn Roland Demong, witnessed by Puspawati Mohd Aris, the Head of the Sarawak PERKEP Welfare Bureau.
In his speech, Dato Mancha congratulated all the officers on their appointments and urged them to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. He expressed strong belief in the ability of the new leadership team to face modern challenges while upholding public confidence in law enforcement.
“I am confident that this new leadership will be able to shoulder the challenges of the task with excellence, in line with the aspirations of the Royal Malaysian Police,” said Dato Mancha.
