Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, confirmed that the suspects are close friends of the deceased victim. The victim, a 34-year-old local man, was found with two gunshot wounds — one to the head and another to the right arm.

“Preliminary investigations show that the victim was seated as a front passenger in the vehicle when the shooting occurred. We are looking into various aspects of the case, including identifying the type of firearm used,” Mohd Irwan Hafiz said in a press statement.

At approximately 5.30am, two men arrived at the Batu Kawa Police Station in a Perodua Myvi, carrying the unconscious victim. They claimed that their friend was shot while they were driving through Jalan Stephen Yong.

Following initial questioning, police took immediate action by arresting all three men for further investigation. Authorities are now working hard to piece together the chain of events leading to the tragedy.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, a charge that carries the death penalty upon conviction.

Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz urged anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation. Police patrols have also been intensified around the Batu Kawa area to ensure public safety.

This unfortunate incident has shocked the local community, highlighting concerns over firearm possession and violent crime. The police have assured the public that they are doing everything possible to bring justice to the victim and his family.

As investigations continue, the focus remains on uncovering the truth behind the shooting and ensuring those responsible are held accountable under the law. — bharian
