The motorcycle’s pillion rider, also an Indonesian citizen, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital by MOH ambulance for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Perodua Myvi, Mohd Fadzli Ramli, who was travelling with his wife and five children, suffered a shoulder injury. Thankfully, his family members escaped the incident without harm.

The Honda City driver, Farah Nasrin Ramli, did not sustain any injuries.

The Sarawak Fire Department, led by operations officer Mursen Timol, promptly arrived at the scene. They provided assistance to the victims and carried out a thorough clean-up to ensure the road was safe for other motorists.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident. Road users are urged to stay alert, especially when driving along busy bypasses such as Merapok, where visibility and sudden traffic movements can be challenging.

This tragedy serves as a reminder for all road users to practise caution and prioritise safety on the roads.
