Man Thrown Out in Early Morning Crash on Jalan Diplomatik

PETRA JAYA, 6 MAY – A 28-year-old man sustained serious head injuries after being thrown out of a Perodua Axia in a two-vehicle crash along Jalan Diplomatik-Yayasan Sarawak early this morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received a distress call at 4.01am, prompting immediate deployment of a rescue team from the Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Station (BBP). The location of the accident was about 7km from the station.

According to Operations Commander PBK I Rahman Deni, the crash involved a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Axia.

“When the team arrived, they discovered a man who had been thrown from the Axia. He was found unconscious on the road with open wounds on his head,” Rahman said in a statement.

The Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team from Petra Jaya provided initial treatment to the victim while waiting for an ambulance from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The man, believed to be 28 years old, was handed over to MOH personnel for further medical assistance. There were no trapped victims reported, as the man had been ejected from the vehicle before rescuers arrived.

Firefighters also cleared the road of vehicle debris to ensure safety for other road users.

The operation, involving 10 personnel, an FRT vehicle and an EMRS unit, concluded at around 4.50am.

Authorities are now investigating the cause of the collision, and road users are reminded to drive cautiously, especially during early morning hours when visibility is low and fatigue can affect reaction time.
