KUCHING – The SUPP Batu Lintang Branch brought smiles and warmth to the community this Father’s Day with their longest and most impactful mobile service yet. Held at Stutong Market, the team ran a seven-hour public outreach programme aimed at assisting the community with Kenyalang Gold Card registrations and medical aid applications.

The initiative, carried out in the spirit of care and appreciation, turned the usually busy Sunday market into a centre of heartfelt interaction. Residents from all walks of life approached the booth with their questions and concerns, and the dedicated team from the Dong Ge Team ensured every individual received personal assistance.
To add a special Father’s Day touch, the branch distributed 1,000 handmade “Fortune Buns” for free to members of the public. These buns were not sold but given out as a gesture of gratitude to all fathers. The pastries were specially sourced from Sin Hian Chia Enterprise, a well-known traditional bakery in Kuching, known for its time-honoured recipes and handmade quality. The soft, comforting taste of these buns made them the perfect token of appreciation on such a meaningful day.
The service booth also received a pleasant surprise when the Mayor of MBKS and his team dropped by to distribute their own Father’s Day buns. The encounter between both teams symbolised unity and shared purpose, bringing added warmth and festive cheer to the bustling market atmosphere.
Despite the physical exhaustion after seven hours of continuous service, members of the SUPP Batu Lintang Branch expressed their deep sense of satisfaction. The happy faces, genuine gratitude, and strong turnout showed how much these efforts mattered to the local community.
The branch remains committed to continuing its grassroots services, ensuring that help is always within reach for those in need. As one member noted, “Where there’s a need, we’ll be there — no matter the day.”
