Datuk Jefferson Approves RM30,000 for Kapit ATM Veterans Association

KAPIT: Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Native Law and Customs), Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, has approved a Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM30,000 to support the Kapit Division Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Veterans Association in acquiring equipment for the Kapit ATM Veterans’ Home.

Speaking at a tea reception hosted by the association on Wednesday at the Kapit ATM Veterans’ Home, Jamit emphasized the Sarawak government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of military veterans and strengthening the association’s role in supporting former servicemen who have dedicated their lives to the nation. He said:

“I hope this association continues to serve and assist veterans, not only in terms of welfare but also by contributing to the community and country,”.

Jamit highlighted the association’s potential to become a dynamic social movement through community programs, beyond its role as a platform for safeguarding veterans’ rights and interests.

The Kapit Division ATM Veterans Association serves as a vital link between former military personnel and the government, advocating for their welfare and providing essential support.

Expressing appreciation for the association’s dedication, Jamit urged more former ATM personnel in Kapit to register and actively participate in its activities. The RM30,000 allocation underscores ongoing efforts to empower veterans and ensure their contributions are recognized, aligning with Sarawak’s broader commitment to community development and inclusivity.
