Spreading Love Through Food: Free Vegetarian Meals Given Out in Kuching

KUCHING — A spirit of community and compassion filled the streets of Padungan as two charitable groups — Team Dynamic Kuching and Team Share Love Together — joined forces to distribute 100 free vegetarian lunch boxes in celebration of the first day of the sixth lunar month.

The event took place at South Asia Ong Kee Trading (Padungan) and began at 11:30 am, drawing a large crowd eager to participate in this meaningful gesture. The lunch boxes were all snapped up within minutes — a clear sign of the public’s appreciation for this kind-hearted initiative.

But the generosity didn’t stop there. Volunteers also hand-delivered vegetarian lunch boxes to families in need at the KMC flats, ensuring that even those unable to attend in person still felt the warmth of this community effort.

The successful food giveaway was supported by a coalition of dedicated individuals and agencies, including members of Balai Polis Padungan (BP Padungan), KMKK, JKKK, and several volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth distribution of meals.

A representative from the organising team shared:
“Giving out vegetarian meals is more than just sharing food — it’s about spreading peace, kindness, and unity. We thank everyone who made this possible.”

The team also announced that the next round of meal distribution will take place on the 15th day of the sixth lunar month, which falls on 9 July 2025. Members of the public are once again encouraged to participate and help spread love in the community.

With such overwhelming support, this small but powerful initiative is proof that even the simplest acts of giving can bring people together and inspire hope.

Note: Meals were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
