MYSED 2025 Sports Carnival Boosts Health and Unity in Sarawak

KUCHING – The MYSED Sports Carnival 2025, held at Sarawak Sports Village, serves as a vibrant platform to promote healthy lifestyles and foster camaraderie among employees of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) and related agencies. Officiated on Saturday by MYSED Permanent Secretary Mohd Frederick, the event marks a step toward cultivating a sustainable culture of wellness.

“I envision us gathering every weekend for low-cost activities like walking or jogging together,” Frederick said, suggesting monthly activities at Kuching Waterfront or regional areas, led by MYSED, Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), and Sarawak Sports Council (MSNS). He emphasized that sports not only enhance physical and mental health but also build positive character traits.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Dohadi Marzuki highlighted the carnival’s role in promoting MYSED’s policies, identifying new sports talent, and strengthening unity through teamwork. The three-day event, running from June 27 to 29, features teams from four regions: “Kras Panthers” (southern), “KMSS MidForce” (central), “Northern Crocs” (northern), and “Hornbill X-Troopers” (SSC and MSNS).

The carnival underscores Sarawak’s commitment to fostering health, unity, and talent development, aligning with the state’s broader vision for community well-being and active lifestyles.
