Car Fire in Miri Flat Car park, No Injuries Reported

MIRI – A Honda Civic was significantly damaged in a fire that erupted in the car park of a flat complex on Jalan Jinhold, Piasau, Miri, in the early hours of Saturday. The Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (PGO) received a distress call at 3:21 AM, prompting an immediate response from the Miri Sentral Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), according to a PGO spokesperson.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the front section of the vehicle engulfed, with approximately 80% of it destroyed by flames. Utilizing a single-flow first aid hose, a machine pump, and water from the fire engine’s tank, the team swiftly controlled and extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby vehicles or structures. No injuries or fatalities were reported, ensuring the safety of residents in the vicinity.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, with authorities examining potential factors such as electrical faults or external ignition sources. The incident highlights the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and vigilance in residential areas to prevent such occurrences.

The Miri Sentral BBP’s rapid response was commended, reinforcing the critical role of emergency services in safeguarding communities. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity or vehicle issues promptly to avoid future incidents.
