BALINGIAN – Rural development efforts in Sarawak continue to gain momentum with the launch of the Balingian New Village Expansion Scheme Phase 1, marked by a detailed briefing session held at the Kampung Lintang Town Hall on Monday.
The session, led by Assistant Land Administrator of the Mukah Division Land and Survey Department, Mohammad Syarfala Hisham Ramli, provided villagers with an in-depth understanding of the project’s objectives, application procedures, and the criteria for obtaining residential lots.
The initiative aims to offer legally structured and well-planned residential land for villagers, supporting the state’s mission to enhance rural infrastructure and living conditions.
Penghulu Harbi Bakir, speaking on behalf of the local leadership, emphasised the importance of such briefings to ensure transparency and informed participation by the residents.
“We are grateful to the Land and Survey Department for their clear presentation and the Q&A session, which helped resolve many concerns raised by the villagers,” he said.
The Balingian New Village Expansion Scheme is expected to open new opportunities for local families to secure residential land under a structured development framework. It reflects the state government’s broader commitment to uplift rural communities by providing access to quality infrastructure, stable housing, and improved standards of living.
The ceremony saw participation from various community and tribal leaders across the Balingian area, highlighting strong local support for the initiative.
