LUNDU – The long-awaited dream of Kampung Perundang residents to have their own multipurpose hall is set to become a reality, with a new construction project approved at an allocation of RM450,000.

Opar State Assemblyman (ADUN), Billy Sujang, conducted a site visit on Monday to the proposed location of the project, accompanied by officials from the Kuching Division Public Works Department (JKR), which is tasked with overseeing the development.

“This hall will not only serve as a centre for community activities, but will also become a vital hub for the implementation of social, educational and cultural programmes that benefit the entire village,” said Billy.

Billy added that the multipurpose hall will enhance the village’s ability to host events, provide space for youth activities, and serve as a shelter or central meeting point during emergencies.

He also urged all stakeholders to ensure the project commences and completes according to schedule so that the Kampung Perundang community can fully benefit from the new facility in the near future.
