PADAWAN – Kampung Annah Simuti marked a significant milestone in its community development efforts with the official launch of its new village gate and the presentation of new uniforms for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) on Sunday.

The event, held at the village church hall, was officiated by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Transport and Mambong State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil. The ceremony was also a platform to highlight the village’s progress and ongoing transformation through strong community collaboration.

In his address, Dr Jerip commended the residents for their commendable spirit of gotong-royong (mutual cooperation), especially evident in the renovation and improvement of the church hall, which served as the venue for the event.

He emphasised that the unity and close cooperation between residents and village leadership were key to sustaining long-term development. “The development of Kampung Simuti is becoming increasingly visible. I hope this spirit of cooperation continues for the betterment of all,” he said.

Dr Jerip also reiterated the vital role of the village leadership and JKKK in planning and executing programmes that have direct impact on the community’s well-being. He highlighted several initiatives under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) implemented from 2017 to 2025, focusing on fundamental development such as infrastructure and basic amenities.

In a move to further uplift the community, he announced a RM30,000 allocation to the JKKK Kampung Annah Simuti to support community development activities and programmes.

Additionally, Dr Jerip urged residents to participate in agricultural schemes that can help optimise village land for economic benefits, promoting self-sufficiency and additional income streams.

The event symbolised both pride and progress for Kampung Annah Simuti, setting the tone for sustained community-driven development in the years to come.
