KUCHING — The Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) is more than just a land administrator, it has become a key facilitator in the state’s strategic development agenda, said State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
Speaking at the Land and Survey Innovation and Integrity Day (HITS) 2025 on Wednesday, he highlighted the department’s crucial role in ensuring that infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water supply and electricity are delivered on time and according to specifications.
“JTS is very important, not only as a land administrator, but also as a facilitator of state development. This department ensures Sarawak’s strategic projects can be completed within the planned timeframe,” he said.
Datuk Amar emphasised that surveying and land acquisition activities must continue to be strengthened so that implementing agencies can begin construction promptly, avoiding unnecessary delays.
“The efficiency of JTS Sarawak is very critical in supporting projects under the 13th Malaysia Plan. We must keep improving processes to accelerate approvals, reduce bureaucracy and deliver faster, friendlier services to the people,” he added.
He also underlined the importance of innovation, not only in developing new systems, but also in refining work processes and enhancing service delivery.
Also, present were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR) Datu Abdullah Julaihi, JTS Sarawak Director Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, and other invited guests.
