The winning projects were developed by the institution’s Invention and Innovation Club (i3C). One, named MEDIGO, is a digital platform designed to enhance accessibility to public health services across Malaysia.

It was created by software engineering students Ronan Kuek Joo Pern, Alister Goh Zhen Hong, and Esmat Danyal Es Zulkarnaen. The other, EmbraceAura, is an artificial intelligence-powered wearable device that offers real-time emotional monitoring and support for new mothers experiencing postpartum challenges.

This project was developed by lecturer Mohamad Safiddin Mohd Tahir and lab assistant Abdul Halim Hasbi.

The four-day conference, themed ‘Building Resilient Public Health Through Community Service’, brought together academics and researchers to present solutions to pressing global health issues.

Ts. Nurlaila Rosli, Director of the Centre for Information Technology Management at i-CATS UC, stated that the awards highlight the team’s dedication to tackling community health challenges.

The achievements are seen as bolstering the college’s reputation and underscoring Sarawak’s emerging role in the health technology sector.
