KUCHING – Alumaster, under its Classic Emas brand, has become the first aluminium solutions provider in Sarawak to secure dual certification from SIRIM and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
The achievement is regarded as a milestone for the state’s construction industry, enhancing both safety standards and sustainable housing practices.
William Koh Wee Loong, Managing Director of Classic Emas, described the recognition as a reflection of the company’s 40 years of industry experience and its commitment to meeting modern design requirements.
“Today’s architectural landscape involves taller and larger structures, which require stronger, more adaptable systems. Certification validates our compliance with international standards while keeping us competitive in the industry.”
Koh said during the SHEDA Property Expo at the Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching on Friday.
The certification process, which took nearly 18 months, focused on two of Alumaster’s flagship products: the PCW 1000 Window System and the PSD 1000 Sliding Door System.
Both underwent rigorous testing for wind load resistance, energy efficiency, and soundproofing, aided by advanced double-glazing technology.
Koh also emphasised aluminium’s sustainability edge, noting its over 90% recycling rate, which far exceeds that of wood.
“Aluminium can be reused more efficiently, making it a durable and eco-friendly option for modern housing,” he added.
With this breakthrough, Alumaster aims to merge its long-standing reputation with technological innovation, offering developers and homeowners in Sarawak housing solutions that are safe, sustainable, and future-proof.
