KUCHING – The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, hosted a dinner with close friends at their official residence in Petra Jaya last night.

The evening was held in a warm and relaxed setting, serving as a platform for strengthening friendships, exchanging views, and enhancing social ties between the guests and the Head of State’s family.

Among the invited guests were prominent figures including Dato Goh Leng Chua and his wife, Mr. Edgar Ong and his wife, Mr. Yong Tat, Datuk Alfred Yap and his wife, as well as Dato Shankar R. P. Asnani and his wife. Also in attendance were TYT’s daughters, Sharifah Fariah and Sharifah Nong-Jasima, who joined their parents in welcoming the guests.

The dinner session provided an opportunity for friendly discussions covering various current issues and the latest developments in Sarawak. Topics ranged from social matters to the state’s ongoing progress, reflecting the importance of dialogue and connection between community leaders and the circle of friends.

The informal atmosphere of the gathering highlighted the value of maintaining close bonds, particularly between leaders and the wider society. It also underscored the tradition of hospitality that continues to be upheld by Sarawak’s Head of State and his family.

In a brief note of appreciation, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan expressed gratitude to their friends who joined them for the evening. The couple emphasised that such gatherings not only strengthen personal friendships but also encourage continued unity and cooperation within the community.

The dinner concluded with a message of goodwill and a shared hope for Sarawak’s ongoing peace and development. – TYT Sarawak
