Domestic Dispute Turns Bloody in Sibu, Mother and Daughter Seriously Injured

Domestic Dispute Turns Bloody in Sibu, Mother and Daughter Seriously Injured

SIBU – A heated argument between a husband and wife at a terrace house in the Permai Jaya area early this morning took a violent turn, leaving both the woman and her daughter seriously injured.

The incident, which occurred around 5.00am, reportedly began as a verbal altercation before escalating when the husband allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp object. Their 20-year-old daughter, who tried to intervene, was also injured in the struggle.

According to police, both victims – a 46-year-old woman and her daughter – sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Sibu Hospital. The mother suffered deep cuts to her forehead and under her left armpit, while the daughter sustained injuries to the back of her head and right hand.

Acting swiftly after receiving a distress report, a police patrol team from Sibu rushed to the scene. However, the suspect had already fled the house on a motorcycle before the authorities arrived.

Sibu District Police Chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, when contacted, confirmed the case and said investigations are ongoing to locate the suspect.

“We are still investigating this case. Efforts are being made to trace the husband who fled after the incident,” he said.

Police are also believed to be taking statements from neighbours and family members to determine the cause of the altercation.

The tragic incident has shocked the local community, especially residents of Permai Jaya, who described the family as “quiet and friendly.” Many expressed disbelief that such violence could happen in their neighbourhood.

Authorities have urged anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.
