KUCHING, 9 November 2025 — The Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching) carried out an Integrated Crime Prevention Operation from 8 to 9 November 2025, in a major effort to enhance public safety and curb criminal activities across key areas in the city.
The operation, which took place from 10.00 pm to 5.00 am, involved a total of 41 police personnel, including three senior officers and 38 members from various divisions and stations under IPD Kuching. The coordinated effort was focused in the administrative areas of Gita, Tabuan Jaya, and Sekama Police Stations.
According to a statement from the Kuching District Police Headquarters, the integrated operation aimed to strengthen crime prevention, ensure the safety of road users, and maintain public order, particularly during late-night hours.
The operation covered several enforcement activities, including roadblocks, entertainment centre inspections, crime prevention patrols, and monitoring of crime-prone areas. Police also focused on the prevention of street gang activities, which have been a growing concern in certain areas.
During the course of the operation, 264 individuals and 200 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 124 summonses issued for various traffic offenses. Additionally, six motorcycles were seized under Section 60(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 by the Traffic Enforcement Investigation Division and taken to the Kuching IPD for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the Kuching IPD Criminal Investigation Division successfully made one arrest and seized nine entertainment devices under Section 5(1) of the Entertainment Ordinance 2000 for operating without a valid license at an entertainment outlet along Jalan Song.
Police said such operations will continue from time to time as part of ongoing efforts to keep the community safe and maintain public confidence in law enforcement.
“The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will not compromise when it comes to public safety. Continuous monitoring and enforcement will be carried out to ensure the well-being of the community is always protected,” the statement added.
