Miri Police Arrest 26-Year-Old for Container Theft Case

MIRI – A 26-year-old local man was arrested today in connection with a container theft case in the Miri district, police confirmed.

The operation was led by ASP Goldy Anak Jangan, Chief of the Miri Police Station, together with a team of CPJ officers from the Miri Central Police Station. The suspect was apprehended at around 4.22 pm on the side of Jalan Harmoni, Miri.

During the arrest, authorities seized several items believed to have been stolen during the incident. The suspect is currently being held at the Miri Central Police Station lockup to assist in ongoing investigations under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which deals with theft in a dwelling or property.

ASP Goldy Anak Jangan reminded the public to avoid involvement in criminal or illegal activities and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities to the police. “The public’s cooperation is crucial in helping law enforcement combat crime in the Miri district,” he said.

Container thefts and property-related crimes remain a concern in the area, and authorities have assured that stringent measures will continue to ensure community safety.

The police are urging anyone with information related to similar criminal activities to come forward and assist investigations, highlighting that community vigilance is key to preventing crime.
