LINGGA – The Miss Lingga Regatta 2025 competition concluded with a memorable victory for Reyna Anis Griffin, a 19-year-old student from Sri Aman, who was crowned champion during the third edition of the Lingga Regatta Festival.
Reyna, an Iban Form Six (STPM) student, impressed the judges with her confident stage presence, graceful dance performance and articulate responses. Her outstanding display earned her the top prize of RM3,000, along with a trophy, sash and crown.
The runner-up title went to Syrel Engrid Justine, 25, from Gedong. Of mixed Dusun and Iban heritage, Syrel captivated the audience with her artistic flair and passion for outdoor pursuits such as hiking. She received RM2,000, a trophy, sash and crown.
Third place was awarded to Winona Elisha Jemak Raymond, 23, also from Sri Aman. Winona, known for her love of jogging, piano playing and cooking, secured RM1,500 in cash, a trophy, sash and crown.
The Best Dress Award was presented to Jemima Grand Kalau, 30, who holds a Diploma in Tourism and works as an online trader.
Her elegant attire earned her RM600, a trophy and sash. Meanwhile, the youngest contestant, Carolina Mengan Anak Melisa, 19, received a consolation prize of RM150.
The competition featured five participants, each showcasing not only their beauty but also their talents and intellect.
Organisers emphasised that the event serves as a platform to empower local women, while also enhancing the cultural vibrancy of the Lingga Regatta Festival, which has become a key tourism attraction in the district.
The festival itself is recognised as a celebration of heritage and community spirit, drawing visitors from across Sarawak and beyond.
The inclusion of the Miss Lingga Regatta contest adds a dynamic element, highlighting the role of women in cultural representation and community development.
Reyna’s victory is seen as an inspiration for young women in Sarawak, encouraging them to embrace challenges and pursue success in diverse fields.
