Husband and Wife Found Dead in Sri Aman Home

SRI AMAN – A morning routine turned tragic for a local family when a husband and wife were found dead at their home in a housing estate here on Wednesday. Their bodies were discovered by their son, who was preparing to leave for school.

The deceased husband, identified as Andy Roy Anak Junran, served as a teacher and headmaster at the Lubok Antu District Education Office (PPD), while his wife worked as a nurse. Reports suggest that the deaths may be linked to foul play, although no official confirmation has been released by the authorities.

Sri Aman District Police Chief, Superintendent Dennis Bunyam, confirmed the discovery of the couple’s bodies. He stated that the Sarawak Police Commissioner will provide an official statement on the incident on January 14, 2026. “For your information, the Datuk Sarawak Police Commissioner will give a press statement regarding the murder case in Sri Aman on January 14, 2026,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian.

The Sarawak State Education Department expressed deep condolences to the family of the late headmaster in a Facebook post. The department praised his dedication to education and leadership in improving the nation’s schooling system. “This department has lost a school leader who was dedicated in carrying out his duties and trust in improving and upholding the nation’s education. May the deceased rest in peace and the family left behind be given strength and fortitude. May all matters be made easier,” the post read.

The shocking incident has left the Sri Aman community in mourning as police continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with the ongoing inquiry.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of community vigilance in ensuring the safety of families.
