KAPIT – The JPJ Kapit Branch carried out its Daily Operations on 5 February 2026, focusing on patrols and enforcement across Kapit Town to ensure that road users comply with traffic laws.
During the operation, officers checked 115 private and commercial vehicles. Offences detected included driving without a valid licence, expired road tax, and technical violations affecting vehicle safety standards. Enforcement actions were taken in line with existing legal regulations.
This initiative demonstrates JPJ’s ongoing commitment to road safety and public awareness. By conducting regular patrols and inspections, the Kapit Branch aims to reduce traffic offences and create safer conditions for all road users.
JPJ Kapit highlighted that enforcement activities will be intensified periodically as part of a long-term strategy to instil discipline among drivers and promote responsible road behaviour.
These operations are not only punitive but also educational, reminding motorists to keep documents current and vehicles in proper condition.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, noting that consistent enforcement discourages reckless driving and encourages adherence to safety standards.
The operation is part of JPJ Sarawak’s broader effort to strengthen road safety culture, especially in rural districts like Kapit.
Through continued monitoring and enforcement, JPJ Kapit aims to build a safer road environment, reduce accidents, and ensure that all road users benefit from improved compliance and awareness.
