KUCHING: The North Kuching City Hall (DBKU) has expressed regret over a break-in and theft incident at the Electrical Control Room of the Taman Hussein Flyover, an act that has affected public safety, city facilities, and the overall appearance of the area.
In a statement, DBKU confirmed that the incident involved unknown individuals breaking into the electrical control room by damaging the structure and punching holes in the wall. During the break-in, several pieces of electrical equipment were vandalised and stolen. The damage caused has led to the failure of the decorative lighting system at the flyover.
The Taman Hussein Flyover is an important road structure used daily by many motorists and road users. The decorative lighting system is not only meant to enhance the visual appeal of the area, but also plays a role in improving visibility and safety, especially at night. With the system no longer functioning, concerns have been raised about road safety and the condition of public facilities in the area.
