JOHOR BAHRU – Students at Johor State Government Religious Schools (SAKNJ) were thrilled to receive new desks and chairs donated by the Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ) on 6 February 2026.
Among the beneficiaries was 9-year-old Thaqif Rizqy Taufiq, who shared his excitement with the Royal Press Office (RPO): “I am really happy to use the new desks and chairs today. My friends and I will be more enthusiastic to study with bigger, cleaner desks and more comfortable chairs.”
A total of 2,000 sets of desks and chairs were donated by YSIJ to the Johor State Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) for distribution to selected schools, reflecting YSIJ’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high-quality educational facilities.
The donation was officially handed over by Dato’ Avinderjit Singh, Trustee of YSIJ Affairs, to Md Radhi Ruslan, Deputy Director (Religious Education) of JAINJ’s Islamic Education Division, accompanied by Mohd Anizam Jamian, Chief Executive Officer of YSIJ.
Md Radhi highlighted the importance of the contribution, noting its impact on Islamic education in Johor:
“JAINJ greatly appreciates YSIJ’s concern. Comfortable equipment will indirectly improve the quality of teaching and learning in selected schools.”
During the handover ceremony, YSIJ also distributed 460 food packs to students of the Taman Skudai Religious School, further supporting student welfare.
The initiative demonstrates YSIJ’s dedication to enhancing educational infrastructure and student well-being, ensuring young learners have access to conducive learning environments.
