JPJ Sarawak Hosts Procurement Management Course in Kuching

KUCHING – A Government Procurement Management Course was conducted from 9 to 11 February 2026 at the Pullman Hotel, Kuching, under the Sarawak Zone JPJ eProcurement System. The programme was jointly organised by JPJ Sarawak and the Finance and Procurement Division of JPJ Malaysia Headquarters.

The three-day course brought together 30 officers and staff from JPJ Sarawak, representing branches across the state, alongside eight officers and secretariat members from JPJ Malaysia Headquarters.

The sessions combined theoretical learning with practical training, focusing on compliance with current government procurement policies and procedures.

Participants were guided through modules designed to strengthen their understanding of procurement regulations, financial integrity, and transparency.

The training emphasised the importance of adhering to established frameworks to ensure accountability in government spending.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Tuan Nur Rabbani Bin Abdullah, Deputy Director of Finance at JPJ Malaysia.

In his remarks, he expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would be applied to enhance procurement management within the department.

He also extended appreciation to the speakers, secretariat, and participants for their commitment throughout the course.

The initiative reflects JPJ’s ongoing efforts to build officer competencies and ensure procurement processes are carried out with integrity.

By equipping staff with updated knowledge, the department aims to strengthen governance and maintain compliance with financial regulations.

Training programmes such as this are part of JPJ’s broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and accountability.

Procurement management plays a crucial role in ensuring that resources are allocated responsibly, and JPJ has reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards in this area.

The course also highlighted the importance of collaboration between state branches and the national headquarters.

By sharing expertise and aligning practices, JPJ ensures consistency across its operations, reinforcing its role as a transparent and responsible government agency.

As JPJ Sarawak continues to expand its advocacy and training initiatives, the department remains focused on building a workforce that is well-prepared to meet the challenges of modern governance.
