PPD Sri Aman Ramadan Safari Strengthens Community Bonds

The Sri Aman District Education Office held a Ramadan Safari programme on 12 March 2026, which fell on 22 Ramadan 1447H. Activities started at 6.00 pm at SK Kem Pakit and drew teachers, students, parents, and local agencies together in a shared spirit of faith and community.

The programme focused on bringing life to the holy month through religious and community activities. Organisers also aimed to strengthen connections among schools, the local community, and outside organisations.

As part of the programme, officers visited several schools, including SK Abang Aing and SK Lela Pahlawan. Participants later joined the Knowledge Council session at Bandar Sri Aman Mosque after receiving an invitation from the Islamic Religious Office.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohamad Firdaus bin Umar, Commanding Officer of the 13th RAMD Battalion at Camp Pakit Sri Aman, attended the ceremony at SK Kem Pakit. Mr Faizal bin Osman, headmaster of SK Kem Pakit, and Ustaz Syaifullah bin Ismail, assistant education officer from the Sri Aman District Education Office, also took part.

Members of the School Implementation Group, parents, and asnaf students joined the programme. Organisers distributed food baskets to families in need during the event.

One key moment during the evening involved the launch of Imam Nawawi’s 40 Hadith Page, led by Ustaz Syaifullah. The programme then moved into a speech from the headmaster and a Ramadan tazkirah session.

Afterward, participants performed Maghrib prayer together and broke their fast. The evening continued with Isyak, Tarawih, and Witir prayers before ending with moreh.

Organisers reported a smooth programme that met its goals. The gathering strengthened bonds within the school community, built cooperation with nearby agencies, and encouraged acts of compassion through charity. The presence of asnaf students also reflected a focus on social care and inclusion.

Education officers praised the Ramadan Safari for supporting spiritual growth and reinforcing values such as unity, care, and togetherness. They hope similar programmes continue in future years so the tradition of celebrating Ramadan stays strong in the district.

The initiative also supports the long-term aim of shaping students with strong moral values, knowledge, and faith. By linking religious practice with community involvement, the Ramadan Safari reflects ongoing efforts across Sarawak to connect education with social responsibility.
