Passenger Injured, Driver Hurt in Spaoh Road Accident

SPAOH – A road accident involving a Perodua Axia occurred along Jalan Luban Ulu, Spaoh, on Saturday morning, leaving a passenger with head injuries while the driver escaped with minor wounds.

The Spaoh District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) confirmed receiving an emergency call about the incident.

In response, four members of the Charlie Squad were immediately dispatched to the scene in a 4×4 ambulance, led by Sjn (PA) Noriza Binti Japar.

When the team arrived, they found that the vehicle had skidded off to the left side of the road while the occupants were on their way to work. The female passenger suffered head injuries, while the male driver sustained only minor injuries.

According to Sjn (PA) Noriza Binti Japar, the team provided initial treatment at the scene. A cervical collar was placed on the injured passenger before both victims were transported to Betong Hospital for further medical attention.

The operation was carried out smoothly, with APM personnel ensuring that all equipment and logistics were handled properly throughout the response. After completing their duties, the team returned safely to the PKOD.

Road accidents in rural areas like Spaoh often highlight the challenges motorists face, including narrow roads and unpredictable driving conditions. Authorities continue to remind drivers to stay cautious, especially during daily commutes.
