LUNDU – The Cinta Amal Cahaya programme wrapped up on Sunday at Surau Darul Makmur in Kampung Pandan after two days filled with spiritual reflection and creative activities for the local community.
The closing ceremony was officiated by YB Azizul Annuar Pehin Sri Haji Adenan, representing the N3 Tanjong Datu State Assembly Member.
A symbolic handover of the programme was carried out by Abang Abdul Aziz bin Datuk Abang Draup, Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, who attended on behalf of Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Hajah Jamilah Haji Anu, Chairperson of the Lundu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIL). Raya money was also presented to students during the ceremony as a gesture of goodwill.
Organised by LAKIL, the programme drew 220 participants, including students and residents from the surrounding villages. The initiative focused on strengthening community ties while nurturing values of faith and creativity among young people.
The first day centred on a special module for 50 primary school pupils. The session encouraged a deeper love for the Prophet SAW and reflection on the blessings of Ramadan.
In the evening, around 150 villagers gathered for a communal breaking of fast. The night continued with congregational prayers, Tarawih, tadarus al-Quran, and qiamullail, creating a strong sense of unity and devotion.
The second day introduced a creative element through a songwriting workshop. The session was led by musician Amer Munawer Yusoff from Ruffedge.
Twenty secondary school students joined the workshop and learned the basics of lyric writing and song composition. The activity encouraged them to express positive messages through music while developing their artistic interests.
By combining spiritual learning with creative expression, the programme offered a balanced experience for participants. Support from community leaders and artists highlighted the value of collaboration in guiding and inspiring the younger generation.
The event ended on a hopeful note, leaving a strong impression on those who took part. For many in Lundu, Cinta Amal Cahaya showed how faith, creativity, and community spirit grow stronger when brought together in a shared programme.
