To further strengthen regional ties, martial artists from Sabah have also been invited to take part, offering an opportunity for cross-state collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Organisers have confirmed that the competition will include several categories, providing students with a platform to demonstrate their progress. At the same time, the event will act as a selection ground for identifying top performers who may represent Sarawak at the Malaysia National Championships later this year.

The Association highlighted that the perseverance and discipline shown during the tournament embody the Sarawakian principle of “Segulai Sejalane”, which emphasises unity and resilience.

In the lead-up to the event, Master Kiu Chiong Inn and Master Thum Mu Lanng made courtesy visits to elected representatives, including YB See Chee How (ADUN Batu Lintang), YB Wilfred Yap Yau Sin (ADUN Kota Sentosa), and YB Chong Chieng Jen (MP Stampin). The leaders were briefed on preparations and invited to officiate the opening and closing ceremonies.

Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art, is recognised not only for its physical techniques but also for its emphasis on respect, perseverance, and self-control. Practitioners often highlight that the discipline extends beyond training halls, shaping individuals into resilient and responsible members of society.

As a registered non-profit organisation, the Sarawak Samarahan Tang Soo Do Association continues to focus on cultivating talent and promoting positive living.

The Association has long been committed to providing opportunities for young people to engage in structured training, encouraging both personal growth and community well-being.

Members of the public are welcome to join Tang Soo Do classes, which are open to all age groups. The Association hopes that wider participation will strengthen the sport’s presence in Sarawak and inspire more individuals to embrace its values.
