APM Miri Captures Crocodile in A House Under Construction

MIRI – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Miri successfully captured a crocodile that had entered an unoccupied house still under construction in Miri on 30 March 2026.

The operation was carried out by Charlie Squad, consisting of four personnel led by Cpl (PA) Mariani binti Eddy. The team was deployed after a complainant reported sighting the reptile inside the building.

Upon arrival, the squad discovered a frog crocodile measuring approximately 2.5 metres in length within the premises. Using specialised equipment, the team managed to secure the animal safely without incident.

Authorities reminded the public to remain cautious and to report any sightings of dangerous animals immediately.

Such cooperation enables rapid response and helps safeguard communities from unexpected encounters with wildlife.

The incident highlights the importance of APM’s role in managing human-wildlife interactions, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas where construction and development may overlap with natural habitats.

Their swift intervention reflects ongoing efforts to balance safety with environmental awareness in Sarawak.
