The open house was held in a lively and harmonious atmosphere, embodying the true spirit of Syawal. Similar open houses across Sarawak have drawn massive crowds this year, reflecting the state’s strong tradition of inter-community goodwill.

Earlier in the week, the governor’s own open house at the Astana Negeri in Kuching attracted nearly 27,000 visitors over two days, a testament to the close-knit nature of Sarawakian society.

Deputy Premier Awang Tengah had also hosted a separate open house in Lawas, which drew over 10,000 attendees, which he described as a living testament to the solidarity and harmony that defines Sarawak’s multi-racial society.

The recurring theme of unity through festive celebrations continues to be a cornerstone of Sarawak’s social fabric, with leaders from all levels making concerted efforts to engage with the public during this holy month.
