Kuching – Travelers planning to use the ferry service between Bintangor and Mukah during the upcoming Gawai festivities and school holidays can breathe a sigh of relief. The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced an extension of ferry services in the Mukah division.

<strong>Extended Ferry Service Schedule for Mukah</strong>

The extended ferry service will be available from May 31 to June 4, 2024. Here’s a breakdown of the specific schedules:

  • Kuala Igan Ferry Terminal:
    • Ferry 1: 4 am to 12 am (midnight)
    • Ferry 2: 6 am to 12 am (midnight)
  • Muara Lassa Ferry Terminal and Batang Paloh Ferry Terminal: 6 am to 12 am (midnight)

For travelers using the ferry service at Sungai Sian, Bintangor, the operating hours will be slightly different:

  • May 30 & 31: 5 am to 11 pm
  • June 1, 3, & 4: 6 am to 10 pm

<strong>Smoother Travel During Gawai with Extended Ferry Hours</strong>

The PWD has implemented this extension to manage the anticipated increase in travelers during the Gawai celebrations and school holidays. This aims to reduce traffic congestion at ferry terminals and facilitate a smoother travel experience for everyone.
