KUCHING – Police in Kuching have confirmed the arrest of a 41-year-old man in connection with a domestic violence case reported on 3 April 2026. The suspect was detained in the Tabuan Tengah area at around midday on 4 April.
According to the Kuching District Police Chief, the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which covers intentional acts of causing injury.
This provision carries a penalty of up to one year in prison, a fine, or both. The investigation is also read together with Section 326A of the Penal Code, which stipulates that offences involving a spouse may result in double the maximum sentence.
Authorities emphasised that domestic violence remains a serious offence and urged the public to exercise patience and avoid resorting to violence in resolving disputes.
The police chief reminded residents that any criminal behaviour should be reported directly to law enforcement rather than handled personally.
The Kuching District Police have also encouraged members of the public to share information related to criminal activity by contacting the Kuching IPD Control Centre at 082-241133. Officials stressed that community cooperation is vital in ensuring safety and preventing further incidents.
