PUTRAJAYA – On 7 April 2026, the minister in charge of Sabah and Sarawak affairs received a courtesy visit from YBhg. Dato’ Yap Foot Loy, Chief Executive Officer of Ning Planters Sdn. Bhd., accompanied by representatives of the Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board (LPNM).
The meeting centred on strengthening Malaysia’s food security, with particular attention given to the potential expansion of the pineapple industry in Sabah and Sarawak.
Officials highlighted the importance of diversifying the agro-food sector to create new economic opportunities for local communities in both regions.
Discussions underscored the need to reinforce the food supply chain, ensuring resilience against global market fluctuations and climate-related challenges.
