KUCHING – The Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) Sarawak Branch reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Sarawak’s technological transformation during a courtesy visit to the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, who also serves as Advisor to TAM Sarawak.
The meeting, held on 9 April 2026, centred on strengthening collaboration between TAM Sarawak and the state government.
Discussions highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives under Sarawak Skills and Talent Development (STACK), with a focus on nurturing talent pipelines and enhancing the capabilities of technology professionals across the state.
Delegates emphasised the need to build stronger connections between industry players, academic institutions, and professional communities.
By encouraging wider participation, TAM Sarawak aims to consolidate expertise and foster innovation through joint efforts across multiple sectors.
The Premier underscored the significance of technological advancement in driving Sarawak’s competitiveness, noting that partnerships with organisations like TAM Sarawak are vital to achieving the state’s digital agenda.
With Sarawak’s ongoing push towards digitalisation, the association’s role in supporting professional development and innovation was recognised as a key contributor to long-term growth.
Plans were also discussed to organise technology-related programmes, professional competitions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
These efforts are expected to benefit the local technological community, providing platforms for skills development and collaboration.
The TAM Sarawak delegation was led by Dr. Cassidy anak Morris, Chairman of the branch, alongside Vice Chairman Nor Aini Binti Rosli, Honorary Secretary Johnny Ngu Ong King, Honorary Treasurer Fong Fui Yee, committee member Kong Chun Zhun, and Honorary Auditor Jasmeer Zaisufir Sufian.
In a statement, TAM Sarawak reaffirmed its dedication to working closely with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and educational institutions.
