MUKAH – A lecture titled “Dealing with the Threat of Faith and Misdemeanours in 2026” was successfully held on 11 April at the Al-Muhsiniin Mosque in Daro District, Mukah.
The programme was organised by the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department and received strong support from the local community.
The session was delivered by Ustaz Anas bin Sarip, the Daro District Islamic Religious Officer, who emphasised the importance of strengthening the faith of Muslims in the face of growing challenges posed by misdemeanours and moral decline.
He highlighted that reinforcing religious values is essential in safeguarding individuals and communities against negative influences.
The event was attended by a wide range of figures, including N43 Daro State Assemblyman, Yang Berhormat Dr Haji Safiee bin Haji Ahmad, Daro District Officer Tuan Zul bin Haji Usup, as well as heads and representatives of government departments, community leaders and tribal leaders from the Daro Mainland.
Their presence reflected the significance of the programme in promoting awareness and unity among local residents.
Participants noted that the lecture provided valuable insights into contemporary issues affecting faith and morality, while also offering practical guidance on how to address these challenges.
The initiative was praised for encouraging dialogue and fostering a deeper understanding of religious principles within the community.
Organisers explained that the programme was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen religious education and awareness in Sarawak.
By engaging directly with local communities, the department aims to ensure that residents are better equipped to deal with social and moral challenges in everyday life.
Community leaders expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such lectures help reinforce shared values and encourage cooperation among different groups.
They added that the programme contributes to building stronger, more resilient communities by promoting faith-based guidance and moral responsibility.
