SIBURAN – A tree planting programme was successfully held at SK Rituh on 14 April 2026 as part of the school’s STEAM Week activities, which focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
The initiative saw the planting of 20 ornamental trees within the school compound, with around 150 students and teachers actively participating.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Delta Geopark, which also facilitated a series of educational activities designed to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
School representatives explained that the programme was intended to instil a sense of responsibility among students towards nature while complementing the academic focus of STEAM Week.
By combining practical environmental action with classroom learning, the initiative aimed to demonstrate how science and community engagement can work hand in hand.
Teachers noted that the activity provided students with hands-on experience in environmental stewardship, reinforcing lessons on ecology and sustainability.
