Boosting the Professionalism of Islamic Education Teachers at Sri Aman GPI & GBA Aidilfitri Reception

SRI AMAN – Islamic education and Arabic language teachers from across the Sri Aman District came together on 16 April 2026 for a special Aidilfitri reception aimed at strengthening professional standards and reinforcing the role of educators in shaping future generations.

The event was held at Jumaa’ni Hall, SK Abang Aing, and combined festive celebration with professional reflection.

The programme opened with remarks from Ustaz Muzakkir, who serves as chairman of the Sri Aman Division PEKDIS for the 2024–2026 session.

He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and urged teachers to maintain strong collaboration and commitment in advancing Islamic education.

His call underscored the importance of unity among educators in ensuring the subject continues to thrive at both school and district levels.

A montage showcasing activities by Islamic Education teachers between 2024 and 2026 was presented, highlighting initiatives in personality development, academic excellence, and da’wah programmes.

These efforts reflected the broad scope of work undertaken to nurture students’ intellectual and spiritual growth.

District Education Officer Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Muhiyuddin delivered the keynote address, stressing the need for deeper mastery of the Quran among students.

He explained that understanding and appreciating the text is vital for shaping Muslim identity, beyond the ability to recite.

He also emphasised the significance of prayer as a central pillar of faith, urging teachers to ensure students grasp its meaning and practice.

Haji Abdul Rahman further highlighted the importance of teachers serving as role models, embodying integrity, discipline, and moral conduct.

He encouraged educators to strengthen ties with parents and the wider community, noting that such engagement is essential in building a balanced generation prepared for both worldly responsibilities and spiritual fulfilment.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to secondary schools in the district in recognition of their achievements in Islamic education for 2025.

The ceremony also celebrated creativity among teachers and students, with prizes awarded for the Raya Video and Ramadan Tazkirah Video competitions.

The event concluded with a lively Aidilfitri social session, fostering camaraderie and brotherhood among teachers.
