SRI AMAN – The Sri Aman Fire and Rescue personnel successfully carried out an operation to remove a hazardous bee nest at Kem Temudok PGA on 17 April 2026.
The incident was reported at 7.04 pm, with the location situated approximately three kilometres from the station.
The operation was led by PB Albert Shee Ji Long, who commanded the team on site. A Nissan Urvan van was deployed to transport personnel and equipment.
Upon arrival, the team identified a bee nest located outside a water tank at a height of 15 feet. The operation commander, equipped with full personal protective equipment, assessed the situation before proceeding to destroy the nest using specialised tools. The task was completed safely, with no further hazards detected at the site.
The report confirmed that no senior officers or external agencies were involved in the operation. The incident was initially reported by ASP Sepit and received directly by PBB Alvin Klungop at the station.
The operation concluded without complications, and the team returned to base after ensuring the area was safe for residents and personnel.
Local authorities emphasised that such interventions are vital to maintaining safety in public facilities. Bee nests, particularly when located near water tanks or communal areas, can pose risks to both health and safety if left unattended.
The Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Department reaffirmed its commitment to responding promptly to community hazards, ensuring that public facilities remain safe and secure.
